"Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
" Ephesians 4:3-6

Share the Vision – Build the Bridge to Jesus

The members in session meeting on October 20, 1998 at Park Avenue Baptist Church established Evangelism as the #1 priority of this association.

In the office building, member churches of the Friendship Baptist Association have access to a video and audio cassette library available with items to be checked out for one week. Some of these cassettes include Focus on the Family by James Dobson, Beth Moore Bible Studies, and outreach training kits.

Member churches also have an Electric Media Library with equipment available to be checked out for one week. This includes radios, VCRs, TVs, projectors, projection screens, and a power point machine. Also available is a canopy.

In the electric library, the association has the means to reproduce non-copyrighted materials, such as: audio cassettes, video cassettes, and posters. There is a laminating machine capable of laminating a 25" wide poster.

Should one of our churches sponsor an event (Revival, Deacon Ordination, Easter Cantata, Christmas Musical, etc.) and would like to post it in the Alabama Baptist Newspaper or on the web site, please submit entries to the association office seven days prior to the first Thursday of the month, or seven days prior to the third Thursday of the month so the information can be printed.

 CHURCH COVENANT

Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour and, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge, holiness and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality: to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.

We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our own kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting and excessive anger; to abstain from the sale of and use of intoxicating drinks as a beverage; to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Saviour.

We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and Christian courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the rules of our Savior to secure it without delay.

We moreover engage that when we remove from this place we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word.

The Friendship Baptist Association is a family of 31 churches who voluntarily join together to encourage, strengthen and help each other in their common commitment to carry out the great commission of Jesus Christ. The objective of this association is to promote fellowship among member churches and to provide education and training in missionary, evangelism and stewardship programs of the association in cooperation with the Alabama and Southern Baptist Convention.

Just for You...
